*Position Summary*

Responsible for planning, developing, implementing and maintaining all public relations, and internal communications for the organization.

*Education Requirements*

Bachelor of Arts/Science degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or a related field

*Work Experience Requirements*

Three years healthcare public relations and/or communications or writing experience



*Position duties (essential functions, INCLUDE % OF TIME)*

Internal Communications - 35%

  • Develops strategic integrated communications plans in collaboration with marketing and business development leaders.

  • Provide public relations/communications support to all business units.

  • Manage development and implementation of crisis communications.

  • Provide training for key leaders in effective communications and media relations.

  • Manage communications for consumer promotions in conjunction with marketing.

  • Lead media relations function and serve as the media spokesperson.

  • Develop internal newsletters including conducting interviews, writing and editing.

Public relations/PIO - 25%

  • Manage creation and distribution of key organizational messages in conjunction with the executive leadership team.

  • Work with media outlets as needed for public information purpose

  • Work with marketing team

Website and Social Media -15%

  • Update website for all policy and hospital-specific messaging, non service line related

  • Manage social networking tools to promote the organization and to position key leaders as healthcare experts.

Community Engagement -25%

  • Performs outreach, including public speaking with various community partners, agencies, and events,

  • Distributes information about hospital services, facilities, etc. to community.

  • Serves as a coordinator and resource for events for hospital. May occasionally staff events, but regularly performs the organizer role.
