_Position Summary_

Under supervision performs clerical functions required in preparation of moderately complex correspondence and reports. Screens, refers and response to telephone inquires, greets and directs visitors. Handles incoming and outgoing mail, maintains files and record systems and any other office duties as it relates to the department business needs. _Minimum Education Requirements_

  • High School Diploma or GED

_Minimum Experience Requirements_

  • 1 year of general office or secretarial experience

  • Operates personal computer using a word-processing application and has knowledge of other software applications

_Position Duties (Essential Functions, Include % of time)_

Clerical Support – 50%

  • Provides clerical support duties: filing, typing memos, reports, answering phones, distributing all incoming and outgoing mail, photo-copy, etc.

  • Responsible for ordering departmental supplies, processing requisitions and purchase orders to maintain an adequate level to allow for normal departmental functioning.

  • Operates standard office equipment.

Problem Solving – 30%

  • Works with staff and other departments in coordinating effective communication activities.

  • Demonstrates appropriate confidentiality when communicating.

  • Prioritizes department tasks and projects to ensure they are completed in the required time frame.

Organization – 20%

  • Demonstrates ability to organize work in order to complete required duties.

_Physical Requirements_

  • Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
