_Position Summary_

Contributes to the fulfillment of the Centura Health Mission and Vision by planning, designing, implementing and maintaining programs, policies and management systems of the overall operations of assigned Centura Health Physician Group (CHPG) clinic sites. Serves as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes an awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission and Values of Centura Health. Reports directly to the Administrator, Primary Care or Administrator, Specialty Care. Works collaboratively with management within CHPG, as well as across all Centura Health, to achieve system objectives. This role has contact with community groups, third party payors, agencies, vendors, other health care organizations and other interested parties. Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and maintaining strategies and initiatives in the following key areas: Clinic Operations - Provides leadership and oversight for the development, integration, coordination and ongoing support for the delivery of health services in an integrated fashion through the management, direction and supervision of the clinic. Operations may include human resources, policies and procedures, finance and budgeting, purchasing/materials management, legal/risk management, property management, customer service, billing and central business office functions, and information systems (IS). Clinic Staffing - Responsible for the development, integration, coordination and ongoing support for the quality of clinic staff through effective screening processes, innovative training programs, and maintenance of customer services standards. Responsible for staff in all areas of the clinic.

Contributes to the fulfillment of the Centura Health Mission and Vision by providing administrative leadership for clinic-wide operations, optimizing performance across all Centura Health Physician Group operating entities, sites of service and systems of care. Working collaboratively with the other Clinic and System leaders, this individual will execute strategy and direct the organization and delivery of care, while assuring effective and efficient operating performance. This individual will work collaboratively with members of the CHPG executive leadership team and senior management to design and implement operational strategies and tactics to achieve organizational goals. Serves as a patient advocate as well as a role model for ethical management behavior and promotes and awareness and understanding of positive ethical and moral principles consistent with the Mission, Vision, and Values of Centura Health. This position provides general direction, technical assistance and support to all elements of the Centura Health Physician Group in planning and implementation for areas of responsibility. The incumbent has contact with community groups, agencies, other health care organizations and other interested parties. The incumbent is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing and maintaining strategies and initiatives for effective and efficient delivery of care within CHPG. This position works collaboratively with medical staff, community leaders, agencies and payors to carry out the goals and objectives outlined in the strategic plan. A key role of this position is to build strong relationships with physicians and employees for Centura Health Physician Group and to achieve high levels of patient and customer satisfaction.

_Minimum Education Requirements_

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration or equivalent

  • Master’s degree strongly preferred.

_Minimum Experience Requirements_

  • 5 years experience in a healthcare related field with at least two years management experience.

  • Must possess strong knowledge of clinic operations; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and professional standards; strong project management skills; good communications skills; good strategic planning skills; strong change management skills; must demonstrate personal traits of a high level of motivation; team orientation; professionalism; trust and place a high value on treating others with dignity and respect.

_Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )_

Operations Management

  • Maintains a system of management reporting that provides CHPG with timely and relevant information in all areas of responsibility.*

  • Functions as the primary liaison between his/her assigned CHPG clinic site(s) and other departments/managers within the Centura Health System to ensure an integrated operation of the facilities within the overall system.*

  • Develops, monitors, and responds to a full range of financial, service, and quality indicators in all areas of responsibilities.*

  • Works with staff and physicians to resolve issues, decrease expenses, increase productivity and promote efficiency.*

  • Responsible for expense management of all assigned CHPG locations and investigating and analyzing new revenue enhancing opportunities.*

  • Works collaboratively with division-specific leaders in the development and management of the capital, operational and FTE budgets in support of the AHC strategic plans and goals.*

  • Develops, recommends, and manages capital and operational budgets in support of strategic plans.*

  • Ensures that revenue cycle processes are maintained according to established policies and procedures.*

  • Responsible for management of financial aspects of daily clinic operations which may include: coding, cash control and deposits, charge entry, financial reporting, petty cash and Central Business Office communications.*

  • Serves as principal interface with PRS to ensure timely/maximized collections, prompt resolution of issues and appropriate analysis and reporting.*

  • Maintains compliance with operational procedures/organizational policies for the clinical activities, business office, medical records function, appointment functions and all clerical activities throughout the facility.*

  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing health care delivery and rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring the service and facility operations and programs and initiating required changes or improvements.*

  • Participates in all safety, security, infection control and risk management programs that are mandatory as well as those required and provided by CHPG and department specific policy.*

Business Development

  • Works with the Centura Health Physician Group executive leadership team and the Centura Health Planning department in developing short- and long-range business plans for CHPG.*

  • Optimize revenue potential for all lines of business. Initiate services and programs to enhance revenue and strengthen Centura Health Physician Group market position.*

  • Develop joint clinical programs and ventures, where appropriate, with individuals and groups within the Medical Staff.*

  • In collaboration with Centura Health executives, establishes business development models to assure CHPG viable growth and volumes.*

Compliance/Leadership

  • Work collaboratively with other executive and physician leaders to enhance programs, resolve conflict, develop new services and maximize Centura Health resources.*

  • Assume responsibility for such duties and projects as may be assigned by the Vice President, Operations.*

  • Under the direction of the COO and Vice President, Operations, and working with other Clinic and System leaders, design and direct the development of care operations to achieve the organization’s vision of becoming a fully integrated healthcare organization.*

  • Maintain a system of management reporting that provides the system with timely and relevant information in all areas of responsibility.*

  • Encourage the growth and development of subordinates through such activities as workshops, seminars, independent study and other continuing education opportunities.*

Partnership

  • Understands the needs of customers to the clinics and therefore plans and institutes new service delivery models, programs as assigned, or establishes departments as necessary to maintain operational efficiency and to meet service objectives and customer needs.*

  • Understand the needs of the customers of Centura Health.*

  • Design and implement services and programs that meet the needs of customers within an environment that assures a positive patient and family experience.*

  • Develop and maintain a positive employee environment that results in a productive, motivated and engaged work force.*
