_Shift:_ This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week

_Position Summary_

A front-line leadership position responsible for the day to day supervision of the analytics team and oversight of laboratory business intelligence and it’s application to lab strategy and operations. Responsible for project coordination and deliverables assigned to other lab analysts. This position is responsible for reviewing policies and work flow and determining best practices on creating and maintaining lab business intelligence. Position focus will be on innovation and automation of data collection and optimal use of key performance indicators and information by lab leadership. This position supports all laboratories at the Corporate and Facility level through data analysis, design and development of databases related to laboratory processes and strategies. Works closely with end- users to gather business intelligence requirements and ensure proper testing/validation and end-user knowledge of information. Documents created visualizations, reports and/or changes to existing reports Determines and defines reporting needs requiring strong analytical skills.

_Minimum Education Requirements_

  • BS or BA degree

  • Masters degree desirable

  • Degree in medical laboratory science or healthcare desirable

_Minimum Experience Requirements_

  • 3 years analytic experience required

  • 3 years healthcare experience desirable

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Access and other analytic applications required

  • Strong analytical reasoning required

  • Experience with managing complex programs with accountability for measured outcomes, desirable

  • Experience with data repositories and warehouses desirable

  • Strong customer service focus and commitment to the mission and vision of Centura Health

  • Communicate effectively with various skill levels to include technical, clinical and non-clinical staff, directors and managers.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • ASCP certification MLS/MT/MLT or equivalent desirable

  • Certified Project Manager desirable

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt desirable

_Position Duties (essential functions denoted with an * )_

  • Direct supervision of lab operation analysts.*

  • Train and support Analysts on system reporting tools.*

  • Coordinate projects and activities of Analytic team.*

  • Review Policy and workflows.

  • Day to day oversight of operations.*

  • Exhibits mastery in creating queries and reports to provide accurate data for scorecard key performance indicators, best practice teams (BPT) and leadership projects, utilizing financial, service, quality, and human resource data.

  • Manages laboratory IT application usage related to business intelligence

  • Audits processes and information systems for data capture adequacy, working to resolve limitations of data

  • Continually looks for opportunities to improve the integrity and timeliness of business intelligence information.

  • Performs financial analysis to support strategies and initiatives

  • Develops optimal reporting methods utilizing the decision support system.

  • Assists and trains users in understanding how data relates to the lab processes and finances along with the nature and meaning of data and reports

  • Assists with financial budget process and on-going financial reviews

  • Able to maintain flexibility to pro-actively plan for shifting and changing organizational priorities.

  • Assists and trains users in understanding how data relates to the lab processes and finances and the nature and meaning of data and reports.

  • Responsible for presenting information derived from data, ensuring optimal training on data interpretation, and ensuring that business intelligence leads to actionable results.

  • Maintains current knowledge of trends in ways to deliver service in regards to laboratory medicine.

  • Develops and maintains knowledge of regulatory and accreditation requirements of laboratories by CLIA, CAP, TJC, CMS, etc.

  • Understands process workflow concepts and the use of process improvement methodologies including Focus PDCA, Six Sigma, LEAN, etc, in management practices.

  • Ability to interact effectively with clinical leadership.

  • Flexibility to work variable hours and ability to travel

_Physical Requirements_

  • Sedentary Work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert/lift up to 10 lbs. force occasionally
