Position Summary

Provide leadership and accountability in the daily operations of assigned departments. Responsible for developing and maintaining physician relations, empowering clinical care givers through solicitation of input, and implementation of actions to improve delivery of patient care. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the provision of services in the assigned departments. Participates in and/or supervises the delivery of patient care, as necessary, and has the responsibility for establishing standard nursing practice for the service. Assures achievement of department goals and takes an active role in achievement of hospital Assures adherence to hospital policies and standards set forth by accreditation and regulatory agencies.

  • Minimum Education Requirements*

Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master's Degree in health care or business related field OR a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN).

  • Minimum Experience Requirements*

Five years of clinical experience in an emergency and/or critical care department.

Two years management experience.

Current Colorado RN License required. **

 Identifies the best methods for accomplishing long and short- term goals by creating plans and evaluating unit performance objectively. *

 Participates in the Trauma Quality Improvement/Peer Review Plan in cooperation with the surgical Director of Trauma Services, Trauma Program and Quality Leadership. Oversees data collection on all applicable trauma patients. *

 Works with the EMS Medical Director and/or Emergency Medical Director to establish protocols of care for sponsored EMS agencies. Works with the triad to develop strategic initiatives and goals and objectives for the service with accompanying market strategies. *

 Gain physician support for strategic and financial planning.*
