Position Summary

The Service Line Director Neuroscience is responsible for the refinement and implementation of the Neuroscience initiatives. In this role, the Service Line Director will be responsible for direction and facilitation of the Neuroscience Council which will be comprised of physicians, both hospital and practice-based, and task force members a variety of functions. A primary responsibility of this role will be to create a comprehensive system of Neuroscience care across the continuum of care. In addition, specific focus areas will include:

  • Growth in neuroscience market share

  • Development of a neuroscience network of care

  • Liaison to the Centura Health System Service Line Director

  • The development of a physician alignment strategy

  • Development of an organizational structure to support quality neuroscience care

  • Standardized evidence-based clinical practice guidelines

  • Leadership of collaborative neuroscience care improvement projects

Minimum Education Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science.

  • Master’s Degree in health care related field preferred.

Minimum Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience or related experience in neuroscience related field required.

  • Experience working in health care systems preferred.

  • Successful history of working with physicians required.

Position Duties

Develop Centura Neuroscience System of Care 40%

  • Oversee the strategies and tactics necessary to achieve the vision to “Position Centura Health as the statewide leader in neuroscience and neurovascular care”.*

  • Create a systematic, coordinated approach to neuroscience services including standardized evidence- based clinical practice guidelines.*

  • Develop of a system for access to neuroscience care .*

  • Achievement of quality initiatives: Primary Neuroscience Center certifications, neuroscience report card, neuroscience registry, national recognition by ASA/AHA Get With The Guidelines program

Leadership – 20%

  • Develop a physician alignment strategy to more fully engage neuroscience physicians to the long- term success of Centura neuroscience services.*

  • Establish, maintain and evaluate sustainable organizational infrastructure and processes for neuroscience care.*

  • Lead the Centura Health neuroscience coordinators in the development and implementation of evidence-based processes to support excellence in neuroscience care.*

  • Cultivate relationships and partnerships with neuroscience agencies/associations (CSA, AHA/ASA,NSA, RMSA, etc.), EMS, and rural communities, facilities and providers

  • Proactively addresses physician relationship issues to foster a collegial work environment by engaging in a collaborative partnership to impact quality of service. *

  • Facilitate the Neuroscience Council comprised of physicians, hospital groups and Health at Home .*

  • Facilitate the formation and ongoing function of Task Force teams.*

Growth – 25%

  • Achieve growth in the market share and admissions as defined in the Centura Strategic Plan. *

  • Develop a marketing strategy for growth, and continually evaluate and monitor its effectiveness. *

  • Develop outreach and educational programs in conjunction with EMS, community agencies, and rural health services. *

  • Initiate program and service development, evaluation, and restructuring to meet changing market needs.*

  • Actively interact with rural hospitals and communities, physicians (internal and external) to facilitate referrals and usage of Centura Neuroscience Services.*

  • Achieve recognition as the Neuroscience Leader in the state of Colorado.*

Fiscal– 15%

  • Coordinates development and tracking of operational and capital budgets for Neuroscience Services.*

  • Ensures resources are allocated to provide optimal Neuroscience outcomes and services.*

  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing Neuroscience care, and rules, policy, and laws of accrediting agencies.*

  • Implement operational improvements in the neuroscience departments.*

  • Achieve financial savings through evidence-based care for optimal patient outcomes.*
