The Infection Preventionist is responsible for implementing the facility-wide infection prevention and control program. This role will direct others within the entity towards process improvements that support the reduction of healthcare acquired infections. Participates in activities of the Infection Prevention and Control Committee, educates other practitioners on the system -based causes for infections, consults with management and staff, and implements evidence-based programs that support effective infection prevention and control strategies.
What You Bring/Job Requirements
In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
Three (3) years of clinical or related experienceKnowledge in epidemiological principles, infectious diseases, and sterilization, sanitation and disinfection practices.Knowledge in adult education principles and patient care practices.Experience using databases and spreadsheetsStrong communication skills and ability to facilitate teams
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education or experience. Degree in Nursing or other clinical related field, preferred
MSN, MPH or other related Master’s degree, preferred
Current Certification in Infection Control (CIC), preferred. Must obtain within six months of eligibility as defined by the Certified Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology (CBIC)
Physical Requirements - Sedentary work -(prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10lbs force occasionally)
